Bali Travel Guide

flights to Bali

Floating between Asia and Australia is the worldís largest archipelago, Indonesia. A diverse country with varying landscapes, cultures and opportunities, Indonesia has become a contender for the top holiday destination. Although Java and Sumatra have plenty of allure in their own right, it is Bali and Lombok Island that provides the ultimate setting to lay your sarong and bronze your skin.

The spice of Bali is not just in the food. This energetic island has such a variety of beaches and holiday spots that it could satisfy even the most finicky holidaymaker. Shrouded in amongst the lush tropical gardens of eastern Bali, lies Sanur, the islandís first ever beach resorProtected by an extensive coral reef and met by a shallow, blue lagoon, Sanur Beach is the place for safe swimming and snorkelling. Here you will also find a golden mile of accommodation ranging from boutique hotels to five star. For lashings of luxury visit the beaches of Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. These beach resorts are occupied almost entirely by five-star properties and were designed with pure extravagance in mind. However, for those looking to gear down and loosen the tie, visit Kuta Beach. First discovered in the 60ís by hippies and surfers, Kuta Beach has become a young, boisterous tourist resort area riddled with cafes, restaurants and bars.

Making up Lombok Island, Baliís subtle neighbour is lush, prosperous countryside, virgin-white beaches, secluded hide-aways, mountainous terrain, and cascading waterfalls. There isnít a whole lot to do on Lombok, however it is in its tranquillity where lies the appeal. Remember to take pleasure in the slower pace of the island, it will soon speed up if heading west.
