Bournemouth Travel Guide
Whilst much of the town’s prosperity is based on tourism revenues the town has attracted a number of medium sized hi-tech and manufacturing businesses in recent
years. Bournemouth makes few historical claims and it really doesn’t need to as the surrounding area is well endowed with a wide variety of historic places. Corfe
Castle and The New Forest are interesting diversions; the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is well worth the short journey ideally combined with a visit to Bucklers
Hard, a fascinating village on the Beaulieu River where some of Nelsons boats were built. Nightlife in Bournemouth could only be described as lively and hedonistic, with a disproportionate number of nightclubs and bars, the town also has a sizeable gay scene. Dining in Bournemouth is particularly cosmopolitan with literally dozens of places to sample, Indian, Thai, Italian, Turkish and many other cuisines.
