Costa Dorada Travel Guide
Known as ‘The Golden Coast’, stretching from the south of the Costa Brava to Tarragona is the Costa Dorada, another favourite Spanish holiday destination. This picturesque coast is brimming with outstanding beaches, beautifully manicured towns and intriguing history. Although exciting nightlife, eco-treasures and secluded hideaways can be found, Costa Dorada has become a well-known family destination. With many child-friendly resorts, a tree-lined promenade bursting with sites and sounds and sandcastle quality beaches, Salou has perhaps become the most popular destination for those with kids in tow. Another bonus to this area is the nearby world-class, Universal Studios Port Aventura. Enter and explore five different worlds at this spectacular theme park each with its own set of rides, restaurants, shops and entertainment. For more family fun make your way to La Pineda, home to an incredible waterpark. Moving south, L’ Almadrava is another beach resort but perhaps lesser known giving it a much sought after feel of solitude. Other resorts include L’ Amella de Mar, a small fishing port characterized by romantic coves and secluded beaches and Les Cases d’ Alcanar, a typical seaside village armed with campsites, hotels and restaurants and of course the soft-sand covered beach.
For a taste of culture, check out Tarragona, a historic city with a great personality.
