Strabane Travel Guide
A popular attraction with visitors is Sperrin Heritage Centre with its ‘Treasures of the Sperrins’ exhibition an ideal way to learn a little of the mountain’s history before trekking off to ‘conquer’ them. Strabane has a history of folk who have relocated to the USA, amongst them was John Dunlap, who printed the Declaration of Independence and you can visit the building where he learnt his trade at Gray’s Printing Press. A popular place for a day trip is nearby Castlederg, a busy market town with ancient ruins, monastic settlements, that was once home to Davy Crockett’s ancestors. Strabane also prides itself on its hospitality and wherever you visit in the town, be it a restaurant, pub or your chosen accommodation you’re always guaranteed a warm Irish welcome.
