Venezuela Travel Guide
The Gran Sabana plateau to the east is characterised by its strange flat-topped mountains. Venezuela’s principal river, the Orinoco, is the 3rd longest on the continent and drains the vast grassland plain of Llanos. In the reaches of the lower Orinoco are Angel Falls, the highest waterfalls on earth. The Caribbean coast consists of a glorious stretch of 1860miles of white sand beaches and to the south lie the hot steamy jungles of the Amazon. The climate is predominantly tropical and temperatures vary only by a few degrees, with the dry season running December to April and the wet season lasting the remainder of the year.
