Dar Ahlam
"House of Dreams": a Skoura kasbah turned no-menus, no-clocks fantasy — dinners staged in secret gardens.
Dar Ahlam — the 'House of Dreams' — turned a Skoura kasbah into one of the world's most original hotels by removing everything hotels usually run on: there are no menus, no clocks and no restaurant in the normal sense. Meals simply appear, each in a different corner of the candlelit gardens, each a small piece of theatre you didn't know was being staged for you.
Days can hold as much or as little as you like — palm-grove walks, desert drives, dinner alone among the dunes. It is extravagantly expensive and slightly secretive, and for a honeymoon or a once-in-a-decade celebration there is nothing else quite like it in Morocco.
Why we picked it
- No menus, no clocks, no schedules — every meal a staged surprise
- A restored kasbah in the Skoura palm grove with candlelit gardens
- Desert excursions and private dinners arranged like theatre
