Dar Imlil
The only pool in Imlil village — a comfortable Berber-style base at the Toubkal trailhead, with tadelakt bathrooms and a hammam to soothe trekking legs.
Dar Imlil sits centrally in the trailhead village below Toubkal, a ten-minute walk from the old kasbah with the mountain filling the view from its terraces. Rooms come in Standard, Superior and Deluxe grades, each with tadelakt bathrooms, a private balcony, and its own small Berber-style lounge — a step up from the simple gîtes that make up most of Imlil's accommodation.
It's aimed squarely at trekkers: staff arrange guides and excursions, the small pool and hammam are exactly what aching legs want after a Toubkal summit push, and the restaurant serves Berber and Moroccan dishes with bread baked fresh each morning by the village baker. A comfortable, sociable base for the two-day summit trek or the gentler valley walks around it.
