Salut Maroc!
A riot of technicolour zellige on the sea wall — maximalist interiors and a rooftop facing the Atlantic.
Salut Maroc! is what happens when someone restores a house on Essaouira's sea wall and refuses to leave a single surface undecorated. Technicolour zellige, painted doors and patterned everything collide into something that shouldn't work and absolutely does. It is the most photographed interior in town.
The building sits directly against the ramparts, so the Atlantic fills the windows and the rooftop café. Rooms vary in size — the house is old and vertical — but nobody comes here for minimal square footage; they come to sleep inside a kaleidoscope.
Why we picked it
- Wildly colourful zellige interiors — every surface a pattern
- Set directly on the sea wall with Atlantic views
- Rooftop café facing the ocean and the evening light
